Great Chart Cricket Club

1st XI

Wewent down by 61 runs at Upchurch on Sunday but there were plenty of positivesto come out of a tough game. We did remarkably well to restrict the home sideto 192 after they were 90 odd for 0 wicket after 20. Picco bowled an excellenttight spell of 9 overs and Martin weighed in with 3/27. Jim continues to excelbehind the stumps and took a great catch to dismiss their opener.

Amiddle order collapse put paid to our reply but the tail wagged with MOM Martinending with 20 not out. Still, Upchurch are a strong young side, the weatherwas fine, it was as good a ground as we’ll play on and the tea was excellent.
